My background and my vision of learning

After more than 20 years of teaching English at the secondary level, I wanted to move towards a more supportive relationship with the student.

While training to become a kinesiologist, I couldn’t simply put aside that part of me that is passionate about the English language, and more importantly, its transmission.

Private tutoring allows me to do just that: I focus entirely on the student and his or her specific needs while individualizing my teaching.

I have mainly prepared students for the maturité cantonale, but I have always been interested in teaching in “small classes” (7H and beyond) and have participated in projects for a better transition between Cycle and Collège. I therefore have an excellent knowledge of the different school levels and their requirements.

My goal is to accompany the student in his or her learning and mastery of the language, using different methods, both oral and written. A large part of my teaching is devoted to conversation and comprehension, but some grammar is necessary. However, I manage to present it in a way that is not only clear, but also fun and memorable for the student, to whom I adapt.
